Our Mission:


KVS has a four fold mission viz:- 

  •  To cater to the educational needs of children of transferable Central Government employees including Defence and Para-military personnel by providing a common programme of education.

  •  To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of school education.

  •  To initiate and promote experimentations and innovations in education in collaboration with other bodies like CBSE, NCERT, etc.

  •  To develop the spirit of national integration and create a sense of "Indianness" among children.

About KVS

The Kendriya Vidyalayas are run by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body formed by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, New Delhi, as a result of the recommendations of the Second Pay Commission. They primarily cater to the educational needs of the children of Central Govt. Employees including Defence personnel, State government employees and floating population. Needless to say, therefore, they have a common syllabus and are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. 
Every school, hence is a miniature India in itself and tries to inculcate in its students, feelings of patriotism, brotherhood and national integration. 
Places chosen for establishing Kendriya Vidyalayas are those having concentration of Defence Personnel and other transferable Central Govt. Employees. For admission, the Vidyalayas give priority to the children of transferable Defence Personnel, Central Govt employees and Personnel of All India Service. But other floating population desirous of having such common pattern of education are also eligible for admission to the remaining seats, the instruction is imparted through the media of Hindi and English in these Vidyalayas, the ultimate object being to enable pupils to achieve a reasonable measure of proficiency in both the languages. However, social studies is also taught in English in Kendriya Vidyalayas. The Vidyalayas prepare pupils for All India Senior Secondary School Examination and All India Senior School Certificate Examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. 
The Vidyalayas are being developed as Quality Vidyalayas with some of the useful features of popular residential Vidyalayas, without making schooling very expensive. The quality of teaching is kept reasonably high by appointing highly qualified teachers and ensuring an appropriate teacher - pupil ratio. 
They are equipped with good libraries, laboratories and provide for a variety of co-curricular activities. 
The Vidyalayas provide for studies in Humanities and Science and many of them are multi-purpose in character proving for diversified courses in Commerce, Computer and information technology.

About KV



Kendriya Vidyalaya, Anna Nagar, a civil sector school, Co-educational, secular school is run by a vibrant organization Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. Situated in the heart of the city of Chennai, Tamil Nadu State in GPRA Campus, Thirumangalam, it has all along been uncompromising on the quality of education right from its inception in July 1995. 

It has been making rapid strides in ensuring the holistic development of the personality of the children by providing opportunities in various scholastic and non-scholastic activities. The large and suitably furnished class rooms, well equipped science and computer laboratories, a C.C.A. hall, a thoughtfully stocked library, a large play ground and the lush green lawn around the school building provide excellent infra-structural facilities.

In order to set new standards in the education system, the vidyalaya implements various creative methods such as parent-teachers interaction, innovative methods in teaching, engagement of contractual teaching staff and coaches for various activities, remedial classes, review of students performances etc. with great care & enthusiasm.


  • Common split up of syllabus, designed by KVS is followed.
      Promotion policy as per KVS guide lines.
      Study materials supplied by KVS have been made available to the students of Board Classes.
      Academic development Programmes as per KVS and CBSE guidelines have been undertaken.
      Special classes for Board class students are arranged during breaks/vacations.
      Remedial strategies for slow learners and low achievers are being adopted for their improvement.
      PTA meeting is held at regular interval.
      Activity Based Teaching is implemented in Primary Classes as per guidelines of KVS.
      Career Guidance and Counseling is reactivated to facilitate better Career Orientations and placement of students passing out of the vidyalaya for various Courses.


    Effects taken for the up liftment of the Vidyalaya


      Maintaining discipline, Punctuality and cleanliness in the Vidyalaya.
      Enriching the library for promoting the reading habits of students with the availability of 28 Periodicals on a variety of subjects and 5 news papers and 7784 books on variety of subjects
      Beautification of the Vidyalaya as well as classrooms.
      Providing opportunities to the students for appearing in Mathematics Olympiad, Green Olympiad, Science Olympiad, Cyber Olympiad and State & National Level Competitions in Science, Mathematics, Environmental Science and Fine Arts.
      Making Students aware of the Educational and Occupational Avenues through career guidance by arranging guest lectures on special occasions.
      Providing opportunities for students to train themselves in the art of the Public Speaking & histrionics ( Literary club be activated).
